Updated! The Roslyn Movie Theatre is OPEN!

The Roslyn Theatre is OPEN! Movies are once again being offered in Roslyn along with popcorn – complete with real butter and yeast if requested. They are active on social media and you can find new movie announcements often on the facebook page or instagram account. John Wick is currently playing this week.

You can find the same charm and quirkiness that the theatre has become so famous for, but also new things like the ability to use credit cards and apple pay plus beer and wine! The seats are larger and more comfy and the rows are spread further apart for comfort. You can still reserve the Loge (balcony) seats, but you can also reserve all your seats because the theatre is reserved seating now. Purchase tickets ahead on their website (roslyntheatre.com) or in person then come in and enjoy the show!

Well this is so exciting! The Roslyn Theatre is opening back up soon!

More news to follow, but we are thrilled that there is a plan in place to re-open this beloved town jewel, The Roslyn Theatre. We don’t know the exact re-opening date, but head over to the theatre facebook page or instagram account and show them your support and also put in your favorite candy wants and needs. We are all very excited to see the beautiful Roslyn Theatre neons come back on again as it is a huge part of Roslyn’s amazing livability. It’s just one of those places that stays with you in the heart.

For those who don’t know, The Roslyn Theatre is a town icon and it has been closed for a couple years due to covid. There has been great uncertainty over whether or not we would see it open again. There wasn’t a solid plan in place for it’s re-opening until now. Long time family owned, the theatre has had Lynne loyally continue to be a fantastic steward of the legacy her parents started in the 1970s. Even while closed due to covid, she brought us “Popcorn to go” through the outside window. It was put on the market over a year ago and there have been other plans here and there, but finally one has come together which continues the tradition of The Roslyn Theatre being a family owned and run establishment and also honors its history. Thanks to Lynne Donaldson for being such an amazing business partner to the Neese family who is working side by side with her to learn all the very important details. Stay tuned for more info and… the POPCORN (gravy style if you like), too! We know that tee shirts, hats, and gift cards are in the works, concessions are being ordered, and that the film booker is working on a schedule for the near future. You can reach the theatre here: roslyntheatre@gmail.com
